Post Occupancy Evaluation of Remote Indigenous Housing, Qld

POD worked with PM + D for The Department of Housing and Public Works in Queensland to undertake a Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) of remote indigenous housing across six Indigenous Shire Councils and in nine communities from Woorabinda to the Northern Peninsula Area. The POE was from both a technical and socio-cultural perspective and included interviews with housing tenants as well as inspections, drawings and photographic records of all houses visited. The findings included critical information about housing design, construction, maintenance, climatic performance, perceptions of housing, cultural and social imperatives in design of housing and subdivisions, and sustainability.
