The Airlie Beach House is perched upon a steep hillside with panoramic views over Pioneer Bay. The house is arranged in two levels across three pavilions to fit on the steep block. A two car garage and laundry frame the street entry. The two living pavilions are connected by a breezy central walkway and stair, and command expansive views over Airlie Beach and the bay. Designed with sustainability in mind, the upper level is designed to meet gold liveable housing standards. The narrow floor plan captures breezes to naturally ventilate the house and reduce reliance on air conditioning. Rainwater is collected in a 10,000 litre tank and renewable power is generated from a solar panel installation on the garage roof.
