Toomelah NSW

POD and Kramer Ausenco worked together, as lead architects and project manager, to undertake community engagement, concept design, design development and contract documentation for the Toomelah Multi-purpose facility in NSW. We worked closely with theAustralian Army, local land council, Moree Plains Shire Council and other stakeholders to deliver a project for the Toomelah community.

The multi-purpose facility is over 1200m2 in area and contains offices, meeting rooms, amenities, kitchen and an enclosed hall that will accommodate functions such as sports, dances, concerts, funerals and community gatherings. The site for the facility is flood and bushfire prone. These conditions created considerable challenges that were resolved through workshopping design and construction options. The end result is a robust, concrete piled undercroft, with suspended concrete floor and innovative circular landscaped entry ramp that creates an attractive entry to the building.
